A mid 19th Century English fusee lever in a gold open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with dust ring. Harrison's maintaining power. Engraved cock with diamond endstone, polished steel regulator with silver sector index on the plate. Plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones, English table roller lever escapement. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat open face case with engine turned middle, maker's mark "WR". Signed: W C Shaw 64 Argyle Strt Glasgow. Hallmarked London 1840.
