Biography of the Week Charles Fasoldt Amerikanischer Uhrmacher deutscher Abstammung Charles Fasoldt wurde am 13. Februar 1818 als Sohn eines Uhrmachers in der Nähe von Dresden geboren. In den Wirren der Märzrevolution von 1848 wird er zum Tode verurteilt, entzieht sich aber der Vollstreckung des Urteils durch die Flucht nach Amerika. Seine erste Zuflucht fand er im Staat New York bei seinem Bruder. Dort entstand eine erste kleine Kollektion von Taschenuhren.
